Hi Willie:

I recently visited your website and something you wrote on there
prompted me to tell you a short story.

Being a ham who's married to a woman who about as interested in
ham radio as I am about football statistics (nil), I once in a
while try to demonstrate to her some of the things about ham 
that I find kinda "cool". One day a couple of years ago I had
finished downloading some software to decode sstv from 20 meters
and had connected my xcvr to the pc's soundcard. As I was
pulling an image off of 20 m she walked in and I said "hey,
stick around... this is slow scan TV via ham radio! Watch
this... it's great!" Well, as the seconds progressed on the
little window on my monitor there appeared a picture of a lovely
young lady, half naked, with a callsign. As I tried to explain to
her that people actually do transmit interesting images around
the world this way, she rolled her eyes and walked out of the
room saying something about "boys" and "porn". Needless to say,
I have never been able to recover 10% of any respect she might
have had for ham radio before that moment. Sad but true.
