GOD BLESS Animated, waving US Flag AMERICA!

WTC Tributes

It's hard to believe it's been this long since 9/11/2001! NOW, ON May 1'st, 2011, WE GOT HIM! FINALLY! Osama has been brought to ULTIMATE JUSTICE by the BRAVE men of the US Navy Seals!

This special page exists to pay Tribute to those INNOCENTS whose lives were lost on that sunny yet awful day in 2001. There used to be HUNDREDS of Tribute sites, but many of them are gone. I pray that you will be blessed by this site, and I promise that as long as GOD gives me life, and the technology, this page *WILL* remain indefinitely! :) (So many other sites have disappeared, forever! The archives don't keep most of the graphics or vidoes, so they are GONE!)

If you see something good, please E-mail me! :)

Our genuine HEROES!

The WTC tragedy, thru the artwork of a child.
This picture * REALLY * touched my heart! <:'(
The child's name or age were not given. It was titled simply, "GOODBYE".
Crying Twin Towers, a child's artwork

The WEB ARCHIVE of the original page is no longer kept. :(
All that remains now, is this little image, drawn by a precious child, soon after this terrible event.

In honor of those heroes who raced up these stairs, never to return,
and those who raced down them, to live and tell the stories, I offer this image:

WTC Survivor's Stairs

These are THE SURVIVOR'S STAIRS!

AN ODE TO AMERICA

Editorial from a Romanian newspaper

Why are Americans so united? They don't resemble one another even if you paint them! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations. Some of them are nearly extinct, others are incompatible with one another, and in matters of religious beliefs, not even God can count how many they are.

Still, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the army, the secret services that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed on the streets nearby to gape about. The Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand. After the first moments of panic, they raised the flag on the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colors of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a minister or the president was passing. On every occasion they started singing their traditional song: "God Bless America!".

Silent as a rock, I watched the charity concert broadcast on Saturday once, twice, three times, on different TV channels. There were Clint Eastwood, Willie Nelson, Robert de Niro, Julia Roberts, Cassius Clay, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Springsteen, Silvester Stalone, James Wood, and many others whom no film or producers could ever bring together. The American's solidarity spirit turned them into a choir. Actually, choir is not the word. What you could hear was the heavy artillery of the American soul. What neither George W. Bush, nor Bill Clinton, nor Colin Powell could say without facing the risk of stumbling over words and sounds, was being heard in a great and unmistakable way in this charity concert.

I don't know how it happened that all this obsessive singing of America didn't sound croaky, nationalist, or ostentatious! It made you green with envy because you weren't able to sing for your country without running the risk of being considered chauvinist, ridiculous, or suspected of who-knows-what mean interests.

I watched the live broadcast and the rerun of its rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who fought with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that would have killed other hundreds or thousands of people. How on earth were they able to bow before a fellow human?

Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put in a collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit which nothing can buy.

What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their galloping history? Their economic power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases which risk of sounding like commonplaces. I thought things over, but I reached only one conclusion.

Only freedom can work such miracles!

A POSITIVE VIEW:

By now everyone has been hearing the death toll rise and reports of the destruction from the terrorist attacks on the US. These were deplorable acts that we will never forget. The events will affect us for the rest of our lives.

But now is a time to look at the other side of the numbers coming out of New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

The sad but somewhat uplifting side that the mainstream media has not reported yet - the SURVIVAL rates and some positive news about the attacks.

THE WORLD TRADE CENTER BUILDINGS:

The twin towers of the World Trade Center were places of employment for some 50,000 people. With the missing list of just over 3,000 people, that means about 94% of the people targeted SURVIVED the attack!

THE PENTAGON:

Some 23,000 people were the target of a third plane aimed at the Pentagon. The latest count shows that only 123 lost their lives. That is an amazing 99.5% survival rate. in addition, the plane seems to have come in too low, too early to affect a large portion of the building. On top of that, the section that was hit was the first of five sections to undergo renovations that would help protect the Pentagon from terrorist attacks. It had recently completed straightening and blastproofing, saving untold lives. This attack was sad, but a statistical failure.

THE PLANES:

American Airlines Flight 77: This Boeing 757 that was flown into the outside of the Pentagon could have carried up to 289 people, yet only 64 were aboard. Luckily 78% of the seats were empty.

American Airlines Flight 11: This Boeing 767 could have had up to 351 people aboard, but only carried 92. Thankfully 74% of the seats were unfilled.

United Airlines Flight 175: Another Boeing 767 that could have sat 351 people only had 65 people on board. Fortunately it was 81% empty.

United Airlines Flight 93: This Boeing 757 was one of the most uplifting stories yet. The smallest flight to be hijacked with only 45 people aboard out of a possible 289 had 84% of its capacity unused. Yet these people stood up to the attackers and thwarted a fourth attempted destruction of a national landmark, saving untold numbers of lives in the process.

*** In Summary ***

Out of potentially 74,280 Americans directly targeted by these inept cowards, 95% survived or avoided the attacks. That's a higher survival rate than heart attacks, breast cancer, kidney transplants and liver transplants - all common, survivable illnesses.

I am proud to be an American. I am moved beyond measure by the response of Americans to our national tragedy and by seeing Old Glory adorning the houses of our neighborhoods. It is a noble sight to behold men, women and children of every color holding candles and chanting, "U.S.A.", with intense veracity while our enemies yearn for us to be weakened by the vicious attack on our soil. As we have heard many times over the air waves, "they" truly have chosen the wrong nation to pick a fight with. And I believe in the end, our courage and tenacity will make us victorious over any paper tigers that seek to threaten our freedom. How unlikely we are to witness again any time soon such human spirit in the face of adversity.

But is our spirit, effectual as it is, enough to sustain us through all battles? I believe if we're honest, we must admit that the human spirit can be broken. There are innumerable accounts of broken hearts, minds and families in America for which our courage and fortitude have held no cure. As we contemplate our vulnerability against our enemies, may we also be cognizant of the war waged against our very souls. May we in America, a country founded on Judeo-Christian principles, return back to some basic truths from which we have strayed.

One such truth is that we are dependent people. For too long have we tried to break free from God’s loving supervision to launch our own philosophies and agendas. We are beginning to realize that God has set up a standard for our good, not for our harm. May we return to His commandments, the first of which states, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength" (Deut. 6:5). This commandment should preclude any notion of coming to Him with our petitions for His blessing.

Another truth is simply this, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." (Acts 16:31). We must understand that God Incarnate did not come to earth to bring more bondage or restrictions. He came to bring true freedom that can never be revoked by even the cruelest of enemies. "If the Son therefore has made you free, you shall be free indeed," (John 8:36) Free from what? Perhaps not entirely from human suffering, but completely free from guilt over our own sins. This is why Jesus appeared on earth.

If we can recognize that we are all, in one degree or another, deserving of God’s judgement, we can be thankful that He has had mercy on us. We can also be thankful that He has set up human government to uphold justice in the world. Indeed, America must execute justice based on His decrees. I would like to suggest, however, that God is more concerned with our personal contriteness than with our demand for justice against our enemies. Before we ask for His wrath to be poured out on our enemies, it would edify us to come before Him with our own guilty hearts and seek His forgiveness. "...being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him [Jesus]." (Ro 5:9).

America is capable of defeating it’s earthly enemies and our cries for justice will prevail against those that we can name. But what of the unseen enemies in our souls and our minds? The battle for men’s souls will continue long after Osama bin Laden and his like are forgotten. But we need God’s help and His Son’s blood to pursue and destroy the sin that is the enemy of our souls. Let us not trade a victorious physical battle for a defeated spiritual one. Jesus said "In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). And He did by dying on the cross and rising three days later. Why rely on the human spirit which can be broken, when He offers us an eternal one that is indestructible?

Beautiful "slideshow" page. (KLEENEX!)

5/4/2011 Update: Out of a half dozen or so links that promised to "stay up forever", only ONE remains! Now that Bin Laden is dead, I think it is even MORE important to keep these tributes ALIVE!
